A one and/or two week cruise around the western Isles of Scotland.

The Classic Malts Cruise is an annual event organized by the World Cruising Club (www.worldcruising.com) which combines tremendous sailing amongst the Inner Hebrides, with breathtaking scenery and great fun!

During the 200 mile voyage we have the chance to explore both the West Coast and the subtleties of Scotland’s finest whisky. The area covered by the cruise includes the waters from the southern shore of Islay, the most southerly island in the Inner Hebrides, to the northwest of Skye. The islands of Mull, Iona and the Small Isles provide a multitude of anchorages along the way and, weather permitting we can venture to the Outer Hebrides.

The sailing is not heavily structured during the fortnight cruise which gives us a great opportunity to get away from it all; of course you can join us for either week, or both!

Suppers, ceilidhs, special distillery tours and tastings are held at the host distilleries of Oban, Talisker and Lagavulin and we are always welcome to call in to any of the distilleries during the fortnight for tastings and supplies!

What is included?
The cost of the Classic Malt Cruise includes accommodation on board your yacht, breakfasts and lunches. We tend to eat ashore in the evenings so that everyone can stretch their legs (this cost is not included) or you can cook for yourself on the boat if you wish. We are likely to operate a ‘kitty’ for evenings where we are at anchor

Our yachts are generally vegetarian. Breakfasts and lunches will be warm, tasty and filling but will not contain meat! By eating ashore in the evening a non-vegetarian diet can be catered for.

Additional costs include a proportion of mooring fees which are split between those aboard (these vary between nil- £5 per night depending on where we stay), the Crew Registration Fee which is £95 and includes entries to distillery tours, buffet suppers and Cruise fleece and Cruise Cap.

Your travel to/from Oban is also not included. If you would like details of travel options please get in touch. We are suggesting either flight to Glasgow and bus/train to Oban or the sleeper from Euston to Oban. Either way, booking early should ensure that return travel does not exceed £100.

Upon booking you will receive your Joining Instructions which provide a suggested list of what to bring. Sailing waterproofs are an important item, whatever the time of year, as they keep you warm and dry. We have these for you to borrow, free of charge. You are likely to have most other items on the list and we encourage clients to travel light because of the limited storage room on board.

Your Joining Instructions will also detail where to find us at the beginning or the middle of the Cruise (depending on when you are joining us).

We look forward to sailing with you!
